This number will connect you either to our duty vet or to our dedicated out‑of‑hours partner, Vets Now, depending on the situation.

Most emergencies can be seen directly at Wye Valley Vets. Our team handles the majority of urgent cases on site, including sudden illness, trauma, collapse, breathing problems, seizures, and other time‑critical conditions.

In some circumstances, we may ask you to attend Vets Now, who provide emergency and overnight care on our behalf. This may happen if:

• Multiple emergencies occur at once
• Your pet needs continuous overnight monitoring
• Specialist facilities are required
• Emergency surgery is complex or high‑risk

We will always guide you to the safest and fastest option for your pet.

While we can perform many urgent procedures, some complex emergency surgeries are best handled by Vets Now or a specialist hospital. If referral is needed, we will stabilise your pet and arrange this promptly.

Out‑of‑hours fees differ from daytime fees. If your pet is seen by Vets Now, their pricing and payment policies apply.

If your pet is treated by Vets Now, a full clinical report will be sent to us, and we will continue their care once they are stable
